Emily Kosmaczewski, M. Sc

an astrophysicist, pursuing her PhD at Jagiellonian University in the department of High Energy Astrophysics. Emily received her bachelors in Applied Physics and Aerospace Science, and her masters in Astronomy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. She then went on to participate in a Fulbright Student Research Fellowship for the 2017-2018 year at Jagiellonian University. Her research focuses on the study of dust in different scale systems in the universe including dust clouds and the centers of galaxies. She also has spent significant time focusing on outreach, working as an educator at a science museum in Albany, New York, participating in the English Language Club at the American Consulate in Krakow, as well as being one of the founding members and Event Coordinator of Night Under the Stars (a public observing event held in English at JU).
