In the Scrum Guide you can read that Scrum is lightweight, simple to understand and difficult to master - and we couldn't agree more with this statement.  In TomTom we are aiming to be a truly Agile organization which - among others - means being open to inevitable change, learning from it and adapting to the dynamic environment in which we are working every day. Scrum is for sure one of the ways to ensure it.

This workshop's goal is to give you an introduction to one of the Agile frameworks - its main pillars, values and all the elements (roles, artifacts, ceremonies) that make it one of the most popular ways of organizing team work in contemporary IT companies. We also want to share some practices from our TomTom experience.

Be prepared for some exercises!

Chatbot are increasingly influencing services in different industries like banking, cards, insurance and others. Chatbot can engage the customer longer and deeper using natural language interface and generate information by interacting with backend systems to provide smooth human like experience. Recent advancement in artificial intelligence (AI) and cognitive computing technology has created a unique customer interaction paradigm. Customers are expecting to talk to banks like they do with their devices or in-home assistants. Messaging is now a preferred method for customer touch points and is asynchronous and lower in cost. AI and MI are getting matured enabling more sophisticated chatbot that can automate self-service tasks.  However there are significant hurdles that need to be overcome in ensuring the accuracy of response provided by the chatbot can hurt the adoption and push the customers back to trusted forms of communications like mobile applications or telephone conversations.

An advanced persistent threat is a set of stealthy and continuous computer hacking processes, often orchestrated by a person or persons targeting a specific entity. An APT usually targets either private organizations, states or both for business or political motives. APT processes require a high degree of covertness over a long period of time. The "advanced" process signifies sophisticated techniques using malware to exploit vulnerabilities in systems. The "persistent" process suggests that an external command and control system is continuously monitoring and extracting data from a specific target. The "threat" process indicates human involvement in orchestrating the attack.

APT (Advanced Peristent Threat) are some of the most sophisticated and most difficult to detect cyber infiltration threats. During the workshop we will define what APT is, and then run an interactive scenario simulating the organisation implementing countermeasures. Active audience participation will be required.

As consumers demand access to high-speed ubiquitous services at ever-reducing costs, networks must evolve to be agile and low cost. Samsung is at the heart of new technologies and standards designed to support price-sensitive time-to-market delivery of services. RAN and Core Network Virtualisation, 5G, Smart Home and the latest smartphones are in our DNA. As such, we are strongly positioned to realise mobile network virtualisation.
In our presentation we will describe how cloud computing is utilised to build 5G virtualised services based on OpenStack, Kubernetes, CEPH, to deliver virtualised infra and based on that configure distributed networks using SDN techniques utilising MANO, ONOS and Java. It will be presented how various technologies and programming languages (C, C++, Python, Java) are used to deliver such complex systems with low latency requirements and carrier grade HA requirements. During presentation Samsung will elaborate how PaaS solutions such as DBaaS, LBaaS can be used to deliver VNFs and how such complex deployments can be managed using ONAP framework.
