For several years now, quantum technologies have been surrounded by enormous, uncritical hype. Anything meant to sound new, groundbreaking, slightly mysterious, and awe-inspiring gets labelled as “quantum.”
Quantum Astrology - classic zodiac culture gets infused with scientific-sounding words: energy, waves, fields, resonance, particles.
Quantum Healing - for example, QHHT / Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, a spiritual-hypnotic method described through the language of “higher consciousness,” the “higher self,” and “quantum access” to answers.
Quantum Psychology - pop-psychology guides to quantum manifestation, where thoughts, affirmations, and intentions supposedly influence the “quantum field” and thereby attract money, love, or success.
Quantum water and wellness gadgets - “quantum water,” “structured water,” energy bracelets, “quantum energy” generators, and other products that exploit the word “quantum.”
Quantum Management - based on principles of unpredictability, probabilism, and unconventional thinking, it also includes quantum-based decision-making, change management, and innovation.
At the Summit, we love QUANTUM. We have been deepening our knowledge of them for three years. We showcase models of quantum computers and invite female and male experts from around the world. We want more women to contribute to the development of quantum technologies, both now and in the future.
But we are also very careful to keep it all within the rational framework of science.
And the temptations are many…
