Prof. Damian Bailey is a leading physiologist and space life sciences expert whose research explores how the human brain responds to extreme environments, including deep spaceflight. He is Chair of the Life Sciences Working Group of the European Space Agency and Director of the Neurovascular Research Laboratory at the University of South Wales. Supported by organizations such as the Royal Society, the European Space Agency, and SpaceX, his work focuses on how free radicals affect the brain and how blood flow and oxygen delivery can help protect against stroke, neurodegeneration, and premature brain ageing.
