Iwona Podsiadlo, PhD, is an Earth observation scientist and AI/ML engineer specialising in the application of machine learning to environmental and climate-related challenges. With over 10 years' experience spanning across research and industry. She has worked on large-scale satellite data analysis, geospatial AI, and operational Earth Observation systems.
She began her international career at the European Space Agency (ESA ESRIN) as a Young Graduate Trainee, contributing to Sentinel-1 calibration. Later, she completed her PhD in Remote Sensing at the University of Trento in collaboration with ESA’s Climate Change Initiative, focusing on land cover mapping and large-scale EO data processing. She currently serves as a Senior Data Scientist at Bayer Crop Science, where she leads the development of scalable AI solutions integrating satellite imagery and environmental data across global agriculture systems.
