Alexa Owen is a British economic diplomat currently serving as Head of Economic Diplomacy at the British Embassy in Warsaw, where she leads the team responsible for the UK’s engagement on wide-ranging topics including climate & energy, finance & economics and science & tech.
Alexa is an experienced diplomat, with extensive experience across the UK government, multilateral organisations, and international policy. Prior to her current posting, she undertook full-time Polish language training. Previous roles include at the OECD in Paris, France as Principal Adviser to the President of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC). Earlier in her career, Alexa held policy roles at the Department for International Development leading negotiations at the UN and His Majesty’s Treasury where she was responsible for health spending and worked on G7 and G20 issues. She began her career in the private sector in international healthcare consulting, working across Europe and the Americas.
