Crystal Knodel is a Hardware Engineer in X’s Design Kitchen, where she builds early moonshot prototypes to help derisk audacious ideas. Crystal brings over 15 years of hardware expertise to the table, with a proven track record of turning complex tech into reality. Before X, she was the Director of Hardware Innovation at Cala Health, building wearable neuromodulation devices, and the lead system integrator for Apple's AirPods Max. Her deep medtech roots also include building the electrical engineering team at iRhythm Technologies and designing everything from dialysis machines to surgical tools.
