Dr. Barbara Piętka is a Professor at the University of Warsaw and expert in photonic technologies. She heads a research group pioneering optical neural networks and photonic accelerators based on exciton-polariton Bose–Einstein condensates, aiming to enable next-generation optical computing and data processing. She has authored over 80 publications in top journals including Science, Nature Physics, Nature Materials and Optica. Prof. Piętka leads EU-funded EIC Pathfinder projects, represents Poland in the European Commission’s Quantum Community Network, and is an active member of the Quantum Technology Cluster. She gained international research experience at EPFL, Switzerland and CNRS, France and today drives collaborations across academia and industry to translate breakthrough physics into scalable deep-tech solutions.
