Mariam Torosyan is a women’s rights advocate and social entrepreneur addressing violence against women through innovation and technology. She is the Founder and CEO of Safe YOU, an AI-powered platform that supports women at risk while strengthening institutional responses to gender-based violence. To date, Safe YOU has reached over 1 million women, directly impacted 62,000, and helped save more than 300 lives. The platform has been recognized by the UN Secretary-General as a Digital Public Good, contributing to SDG 5: Gender Equality.
Mariam is a 2023 Cartier Women’s Initiative Fellow for Europe, a 2025 Cartier Impact Awardee, and a Young Transatlantic Innovation Leader recognized by the U.S. Department of State. She was featured among 15 global changemakers at the World Expo Osaka 2025 and has received international recognition from UNFPA, UNDP, the World Summit Award, UNWTO, and the European Young Innovators Program.
With a background in Human Rights Law, Public Health, and Anthropology, Mariam is a frequent public speaker at high-level forums including the United Nations, the European Parliament, and the Francophonie Summit 2024.
